I wear the HIJAB as a sign of my obedience to ALLAH swt. I veil myself to avoid the evil scrutiny of men s eyes. This 4x4 cloth and the long dress shields me from the corruptive and rotten belief that women s beauty is defined by the curves or complexion of her body. HIJAB protects me from y own devilish nature. It gives me an identity that I could be proud of, because I carry the flag of ISLAM. It is a clear proof of SELF RESPECT and so other people respect me too. If oppression is synonymous of what I feel about HIJAB, then Id rather be oppressed than be liberated. Id rather be a prisoner than be free.
