Ron Howard
Ron Howard was executive producer of Felicity, which was created by JJ Abrams.
JJ Abrams created Lost, for which the best episode of the first season was written by David Fury.
David Fury was a writer for 6 seasons on Buffy the Vampire Slayer and 4 seasons on Angel, both created by Joss Whedon.
Really, once you get to Felicity, you can go a different direction in one more step because one of the writers for season one of Felicity was Todd Holland who created Wonderfalls which was executive produced by Tim Minear who was also EP of Firefly (and Angel) which was created by Joss Whedon.
In case anyone was wondering, Kevin Bacon was in Apollo 13, which was directed by Ron Howard...

Appreciation, but my two cents are that
Wilson was in the car when I came up
