"Sining Gising" (Ugnayan ng DepEd at NCCA)

"Sining Gising" is a weekly two-hour cultural and educational TV program on NBN 4 jointly produced by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts and the Department of Education.

Since 2005, the program has become a training center and a national creative classroom highlighting topics on culture, arts, broadcast thaetre and media arts. It has been the program's tradition to feature various artists and performing arts groups throughout the regions that engender pride of habitat, heritage, history, language, and sensitivity to the social conditions.

Aired live nationwide every Sunday afternoon from 4:00 PM up to 6:00 PM through NBN 4 and its relay stations and also broadcast to the Filipino community in the Middle East and in United States of America, hosted by PA on Culture/NCCA Executive Director Cecile Guidote Alvarez with Ms. Elizabeth B. Raymundo of the Philippine Broadcasting Services.

In 2007, the program has been cited by the Guillermo Mendoza Memorial Scholarship Foundation, Inc. (GMMSFI) as the “Most Outstanding Television Program for Culture and the Arts”, the citation reads – “For its advocacy on culture, for its utmost commitment to inform and educate the Filipino viewers on the richness and importance of our Filipino culture and heritage, for making each Filipino proud of his race through constant presentation of the vast and awesome culture and arts of our people through the program and for giving continued hope, pride and inspiration to every Filipino.”
