in the midst of a recent moldy peaches
show, i lost my cell phone and all the
seemingly important/irreplacable
numbers it held. i dreaded the process
of painstakingly recreating my entire
rolodex. kabir's phone number was one
of three that i could remember by heart
and, i realized, one of the few i truly
need.
1. Kabir knocked out my loose tooth in
elementary school in gym class with a floor
hocky stick. I bled on the floor, but in the end I
was just happy to get $ under my pillow.
2. Kabir and I got sent to "the carols" in 5th
grade for talking in class. Also we both got
head lice. (I mean, come on, I dare you to
show me a better memory than THAT!)
3. My first ever "date" was with Kabir (with
Jenny Lindauer-Thompson and TJ Milliman
in tow) in, umm, 5th grade or something, and
we saw The Hunt for Red October. I didn't get
it. Then I spilled my coke all over the floor
and without a word, Kabir bought me a new
one. Whatta sweet man.
some nachos.
that testimonial. He meant to say Kabir
is awesome. Kabir is the best DJ/host
in Rosendale and one of the most
generous people in the world.
