The Bandung Society for Heritage Conservation, or Bandung Heritage as it is called, was established in 1987 by a group of people who were interested in the conservation of Bandungs buildings, environment and culture. It now has over 500 members from different fields and professions, and is funded largely by voluntary contributions.

The society believes that the identity of Bandung, which is derived from its unique culture and heritage, is the identitys most important preserve, and therefore needs to be strengthened and enhanced.

With a view to achieving this, the Society aims to:

Develop and promote Bandungs unique identity and image;
Foster an environment in which Sundanese art and cultural traditions can be conserved and developed;
Increase awareness amongst the public and private sectors of the importance and economic potential of the citys historic areas and urban environment. more about us visit www.bandungheritage.org
