I am Edward Anthony Masen Cullen. I was born on June 20, 1901. While dying of the Spanish influenza in Chicago in 1918, I was changed into a vampire by a doctor named Carlisle Cullen after my mother, Elizabeth, begged him to save me. When I was changed into a vampire, I rebelled against Carlisle's practice of drinking animal's blood, and for ten years I lived alone, drinking the blood of humans. Since I could read minds, I purposefully sought out and preyed on only the worst of society, which was how I justified my actions to myself. However, after a few years, I became guilt-ridden, realized that Carlisle was right, and returned home and became a vegetarian, so to speak.

While living in Forks, Washington and attending the high school there, I meet Isabella Swan. I soon discover that I'm practically unable to resist the smell of her blood, which is very intoxicating to me. Over the period that we spend together, she discovers what I am and, to my surprise, isn't repulsed. She accepts me and my family.

I fell in love with Bella soon after her arrival in Forks. I know that I could kill Bella easily, a fact that torments me so much that once, I have decided to leave Forks so I won't be able to hurt her. It was very painful to leave my love. It was like I left everything inside with her. However, I returned because I realized I cannot live without her.

My greatest fear is Bella getting hurt. I would never let anything happen to her. I will always stay by her side. Be her protector, her hero, her lover and her vampire angel. I love her so much.
