About Me:
I am a jack of all trades, and as a result I know a little about a lot of things rather than a lot about a few things. People who know a lot about one or two things are pretty smart, but the smartest people I know understand the connections between disparate subjects. I'd like to be more like the smartest people I know.
For the most part, I don't respect borders, but boundaries are another thing. I believe that the best fiction contains elements of nonfiction, and vice versa. I also believe the best comedy contains elements of tragedy, and vice versa.
I have a deep love of language and syntax; a well-turned semicolon is, to me, a thing of beauty.
I live by a few rules:
- no asky no gety (and its corollary, too much asky no gety);
- don't ask questions you're not prepared to hear the wrong answer to; and
- most foods can be improved with one of the following: chocolate, barbecue sauce, or hoisin sauce (but not more than one of those at a time)
What more do you need to know about me? I do a pretty good Kermit impression. My Peter Garrett is damned good, too. I'm working on the Walken.
Finally, a declaration of literary war: Fuck irony, and fuck meta. It's time for earnest to come back into vogue.

Who I Want to Meet:
People who see the connections between things. Local people who want to play poker regularly. Especially local poker-playing connection-seers.
