Testimonials and Comments for Amy
dads were best friends, our moms were
best friends, and we were best
friends. it was one of those. then in
high school we got real different: I
wore tatters from thrift stores that i
thought looked cool but in fact just
looked filthy, whereas amy's goal was
to appear "clean" and "healthy." clad
in jcrew polarfleece, she would
routinely ransack my closet, stealing
and disposing of anything she termed
slovenly (leaving me with like, a pair
of socks). AND THEN!!! Four years
later we're at separate colleges and
she calls me: "OK you were right. fuck
preppy. where was preppy at ellis
island? girls like us should embrace
our bread-begging heritage rather than
deny it with camel-colored cableknit.
oh hey by the way i kept all those
clothes i stole from you in high school
and now i wear them all the time and
you're not getting them back ever."
what i'm trying to say: amy f is a
fucking thief and liar. however, she
is totally hot and hilarious. her wry,
sharp-as-hell humor is evidence not
only of her brilliance and insight but
also of a cool confidence that's almost
inhuman. so while you will never be
able to approximate what amy and i
share, you need to try. but like i
said, you'll fail.
know. Whether we are slummin' it and
hanging out in walmart or whoopin' it
up and rock and roll sushi...I always
know we will have fun. She's not
afraid to tell it like it is and she
has always impressed me with her
devotion to helping her friends. She
rocks!
