I first met Ryan in the rafters of some miscellaneous Illinois highschool theatre. We sat up in the catwalk and talked for hours about girls and life while Don Quixote sang to Dulcinea below us. It was then that I knew that this friendship was going to last a lifetime. Ryan is going to go places ... once he figures out which trail he wants to blaze. His ideas, vision, acumen, intelligence, sense of humor, empathy, humor and humility are going to carry him far no matter where he decides to go in life. To me, Ryan is the wind. He can be strong and powerful - able to flatten buildings with his drive and vigor. And then he can immediately transform into a nice, soft summer breeze ... carrying the scent of mountain lupine and fir. To me though, Ryan has been there when I need him most. Giving me a cold slap in the face when necessary --- or a helping hand - picking me up when I've fallen down.
