About Me:
It seemed like I was all alone, with nobody to help me. You know, I almost gave up all my hopes and dreams. But then -- then -- then something inside me kept tellin' me, way down inside me, over and over again, to keep goin' on. Yeah, on!
Things are better for me now 'cause I found that I love music. So I learned to play the theremin and got myself a band, and now we're startin' to make it. And if you can make it at somethin' you love -- wow, you got it all!
So I'm sayin' this to all of you -- all of you who think you'll never make it -- all of you guys and girls 'cause you're so bad off. Or maybe you think you're a little different or strange. So listen to me, now, 'cause I've lived through it all. Don't turn away!
-
Who I Want to Meet:
Now there's just one thing that I need -- not sympathy, and I don't want no pity. But a girl -- a real girl -- one that really loves me -- and then I'll be the complete man. So I'm gonna tell you -- right now -- listen! Don't turn away!
[whoop! never mind. found her.]

forced my ass out of bed at 9am, the
saving grace was WMBR's breakfast
of champions, especially on fridays
when it was hosted by a certain
friendster we know. so when i met
him at a pee wee fist show, i was so
intimidated by his impeccable
musical taste that i could barely say
a word. lucky for me, though, maybe
a year later we somehow started
hanging out and i discovered he's
not so scary after all.
in the Boston rock world, he's a
genuine institution. Actually, that
was true ten years ago. By now, they
must have bridges and expressways named
after him, but I've been out of town
for awhile. Jon has, in his few years
here on earth, forgotten more about
music than you have ever known. But he
won't rub your face in it. Instead he
will guide you along, gently, to the
promised land. Which just so happens
to be a stones' throw from New Zealand.
radio, period. I used to drive a truck
'back in the day' and listened to him
every Friday morning. I secretly
wished I was him (shhh, don't tell!).
As I couldn't actually *be* him I went
down to WMBR instead and got a
show. I stayed there for a number of
years and was happier for it. I am
forever in his debt. He, albeit
inadvertantly, made me a better
person. I tell you no lies...
traffic and feel slightly guilty to be
driving a gas-guzzling SUV. I try to
tune in to his radio show regularly
which helps alleviate my guilt
somewhat. Jon is always good for a
surreal moment or two. One time my
clock radio woke me to one of my own
songs, which was pretty surreal. We
went skinny-dipping once, which was
only sort of surreal, but later my car
shredded a fan belt, so there you go.
brownie-baking, doily-knitting, silver-
haired mom or the resident of a
male correctional facility. Who's
going to believe me that Jon is
smart, witty and sweet? How is this
any different from a great movie
review written by an anonymous
reporter from a publication you've
never heard of? What can I say to
convince you that Jon's not like the
typical MIT geeks currently wilding in
the streets of Cambridge? From his
octagonal eyeglasses to the
Fluevogs on his feet, Jon is cool, and
being able to call him my friend
makes me feel cool, too. Now
excuse me, the oven timer just went
off and I've got to get the cookies
before my fellow inmates start to riot
and I have to spend another day in
the hole.
even though he often ignores my requests
when he is on air... I've known him for about
11 years and have seen him change from a
very shy guy to well, who knows, but less
shy for sure. He has a great house with each
room painted a different beautiful color and
all kinds of cool stuff on the walls except the
dead cat one. He's also very smart, funny,
goofy -- all the best things.
of records from new zealand...(and that
includes folks who live in new zealand).
your show-Bad Jon, bad.
