About Me:
Passionate, focused when I have to be, happy, struggling. i tend to feel too much and care too deeply and want to find a way to sustain rather than excise that. currently re-orienting my life to marginalize power and appreciate everything else more. Wondering if it's possible that people move right as they get older--or is that people that were not getting older in an age of frank imperialism, rampant capitalism, katrina, and mass-incarceration?
"And how have I used rivers, how have I used wars
to escape writing of the worst thing of all-
not the crimes of others, not even our own death,
but the failure to want our freedom passionately enough
so that blighted elms, sick rivers, massacres would seem
mere emblems of that desecration of ourselves."
Adrienne Rich, 21 Love Poems: VII

Who I Want to Meet:
People with beliefs--political, religious, and otherwise. Organic intellectuals. People who can change my mind. People that can center me and help me be a better listener. Folks that are struggling from a moral place. People who can dance as if nobody were watching. Risk takers. People who can put themselves out there. Brilliant committed thoughtful left wing people who also know how to have a really good time. Good readers--and not just of books. Men who read women and women who write men. People who walk that fine line between holding each other accountable and remembering to laugh and keep it all in perspective. People whose sincerity outweighs their irony. The emotionally intelligent. Touch people.

happy birthday darling! may your day be this delightful.
My hero since I can remember. Strong, beautiful, intelligent, a go getter fighting to make the world a better place for all of us. The only person who seems to understand me no matter what. Caring, generous, passionate as one can be.I miss you!!!!!
testi is at the bottom of all these now.
but almost a year later, and it's still
all true. never letting go of this lovie.
can't wait to see you next week.
disarming, empowering, ever
astoundingly intelligent Jessica! Don't
try to keep up with her and don't
expect her to keep up with you. Just
rest assured that she'll be around when
you need her. I once called her before
sunrise because the ankle I had fallen
on the night before had swollen up to
twice its normal size, and I didn't
know where to find the nearest
hospital. I hadn't spoken with her in
six months and only called to ask for
directions, but she was on my doorstep
10 minutes later. She not only drove
me to the hospital but took the morning
off from work to make sure the doctors
were taking proper care of me. She's
pretty amazing like that. It's only
one of the reasons why I'm so glad that
she got over the fact that
I "accessorize and became my friend.
Hard to believe it's been nearly 10
years...my how far we've come (and
gone).
Jessica the Real would live up to
Jessica the Legend, but she did that
and more. Smart, stylin' and SUPER
nice, Mike is a very lucky man.
