all things sociological/social/socially psychological.. some things psychological: i can actually be quoted as once having claimed to "love neurotransmitters." norepinephrine is my current favorite. i like the things we all like: music, movies, books. i'm a huge fan of endorphins, so i work out a few times a week to keep them moving.. soy yerbas from espresso, but only when the yerba's strong. dining out/eating well (sushi, thai, and indian, especially) stressing out about my future, experimenting with selective serotonin reuptake inhibition, changing my answering machine message, playing skip-bo with my roommate, pretending to converse with my beta fish, exploiting the best buy extended warrenty program, and--yes--obsessing about who's going to be the next american idol.

all-time favorite: catch-22. others: angela's ashes, stone butch blues, the giver, ender's game, 1984, brave new world, prozac nation, kushiel's dart, da vinci code, what's the matter with kansas, fast food nation.

basically anything starring johnny depp or angelina jolie, in addition to: what dreams may come, american history x, american beauty, pleasantville, fight club, silence of the lambs, godfather (I & II only), dirty dancing, chicago, moulin rouge, spirited away, howl's moving castle, waking life, shawshank redemption, chocolat, love actually, kill bill (both), pirates of the caribbean, lost in translation, eternal sunshine, when harry met sally, gia, finding neverland, the station agent, walk the line, capote, rent... i like movies. i probably forgot some.

ani, the beta band, the walk the line soundtrack, tegan and sara, mouse on mars, telafon tel aviv, stereo total, zero7 (but only that one song), rent, mazzy star, some david bowie, some weird chanting guy, some beatles, some pink floyd, et cetera, et cetera.. my taste in music is a little ridiculous. by which i mean random. as opposed to bad.

the l-word (although i'd like it better if it was called shane and involved minimal other characters), family guy, old episodes of e.r. at 3 in the afternoon. back in the day: daria, my so-called life, and law and order (the original) (when i had cable).

i'm a scorpio. apparently, this makes me determined, forceful, emotional, intuitive, powerful, passionate, exciting, magnetic, jealous, resentful, compulsive, obsessive, secretive and obstinate.

i'm also a skeptic, but it amazes me how much of that applies.
