Telah diriwayatkan dari ‘Aisyah Radiyallahu ‘anha, (dia) berkata : “Aku bertanya, Ya Rasulullah (Shalallahu 'alaihi wassalam), Apa pendapatmu jika aku tahu kapan malam Lailatul Qadar (terjadi), apa yang harus aku ucapkan ?”. Beliau menjawab, “Allahumma innaka ‘afuwwun tuhibbul ‘afwa fa’fu ‘annii. Ya Allah, Engkau Maha Pengampun dan mencintai orang yang meminta ampunan, maka ampunilah aku.”.
