In 2006, Amber gave us a sampling of big things to come with her debut album “Feel Good Music.” The first single off the album, “Manila” was an instant hit, climbing up radio and music video charts. The Philippines fell in love with this Fil Am “Pop Jewel” whose beauty many thought had an uncanny resemblance to Mandy Moore, graced the covers and pages of many magazines. Clearly, Amber was one of the most promising breakout acts of 2006.
In 2007- Amber set out to conquer. In a music market which holds looks in high regard more than necessary, Amber proved that she is more than just a pretty face. She released her 2nd album writing 4 out of the 10 original tracks herself. Her singles topped both radio and video charts and became some of the country’s top ring tones. She won recognition at the 2007 Awit Awards for “Best New Female Recording Artist,” was named RX 93.1’s Artist of the Year, and her 2nd single “Back Into You” was named OPM song of the year.
While her eyes are firmly set at making it big internationally, she still has her roots firmly planted in the Philippines, which she now calls home. Amber stays busy performing both locally and internationally, being a VJ for Myx Global (an international music channel), and collaborating and writing for other artists. She wrote and is the voice behind the Platinum selling dance craze “Kembot,” for Star Records, and the current summer channel ID for ABS CBN.
