In most parts of the world the days between November and December slide or abruptly jump from the macabre to the merry, from mausoleums to mistletoes.
But here, since three years ago, there is a brief pause in between. A musical stop, or as it is now and for the foreseeable future, inshallah, a musical continuation.
No, not karaoke for crying out loud! Yes, that's better: The Cebu Guitar Festival, which this year will be on its third year.
This festival provides all the reasons why Cebu is indeed the guitar capital of the Philippines. That this festival continues provides all the incentives why everyone who is Cebuano and proud to be one support it.
Not just by blahblahblahblah but, susmaryosep, rahrahrahrah! By being at the festival. By enjoying local talent and invited guests. By buying their CDs and other merchandise. Not just the beer, kay?
For our part, we do our bit. We give you the low down and the highlights as we have for the past two years and for the coming years as well.

There is now also the option of renting the whole island for the day if you provide your own transportation there and back (boat) and your own food/refreshments. P10,000 for exclusive use (your group is the only one on the island) or non-exclusive P5,000. No limit on numbers within reason. The island is 20 miles from Mactan (closer if going from Cordova), off the NW coast of Bohol near the mouth of the Inabanga river.
