DIRTSLUB

Dirtslub was formed by Gab Manahan, Gamaliel Orense, Gian Fontanilla, Kenn Manlapig, Kent Lopez, Pao Memije & Pat Olizon way back in their high school days in summer of 2001 imitating some of their favorite bands like Incubus, Korn, Slipknot, Limp Bizkit & Slapshock and record in a video cam then became their motivation to form the band . They decided to contact Gian one of their busmates and friends to join the group simply because of his guitar skills and he was the only one who has knowledge about music so far.

The first line up of the group from 2002 : Gab on Vox, Pao on Vox, Gian on Lead, Kent on Rhythm, Gamaliel on Bass, Kenn on Drums, Pat on Turntables (which the group couldn't afford & too expensive) and then switched to Percussions.

In the summer of 2002 Pao's classmate and friend Kikko Ochoa became the band's key to exposure and for them to play live,invited the band to compete for the battle of the bands, and it was so frustrating for the band to compete and they have only a week before their first gig. But then the band started playing covers like Good Charlotte's "Motivation Proclamation", Incubus' "Wish You Were Here & Drive", and they had played one original which didn't went well on the contest "Serious Matters" and "Branch" which they played on another battle that year. In 2003 guitarist Gian Fontanilla departed from the group because of personal problems and musical differences and replaced with Kent Lopez on lead.

In 2004, Later, Pat Olizon departed from the group which leads them with the line up: Gab Manahan on Vox, Pao Memije on Rythms & Vox, Kent Lopez on Lead, Gamaliel Orense on Bass and Kenn Manlapig on Drums and with their new influences from locals like Eraserheads, Juan Dela Cruz, Wolfgang, Razorbackand and foreign Genres.

In Dec 2007, Icen Reyes became their session Drummer in replacement for Kenn because of personal matters

May 2008, they've recorded their first demo "Moonstar" which was produced by their friend Diego Madlaque and "Tag - Lamig" later that year which was produced by the band.

After their first gig later that year drummer Kenn went back for good and Icen still with them as Sessions, after several practices which their Guitarist Kent couldn't show up due to his studies, Icen took place of Kent as their sessions on guitar and later made him the official member of the group whch leads to the final line up of: Gab on vocals,Pao on guitars and vocals,Icen on guitars,Gamaliel on bass & Kenn on drums.

They've realesed their first demo cd copy on Febuary 2008 and still letting them reach out the people their sound through friends and nightly gigs.

After all, these guys are just enjoying with writting their own materials to share their passion with everyone.
