      • About Me:

My name is Ed Angara. I am a lawyer, educator, farmer, banker, and government official of the Republic of the Philippines. But I'm also a technophobe; computers and computer-talk generally give me a feeling of uneasiness. Then, one fine day, a friend asked me out of the blue: "Do you keep a personal journal?" I answered in the affirmative, and my friend said, "You should go online too, because your thoughts are very important, and through the internet you can share your ideas with the entire world".

I realized: Oo, nga. There are other ways to reach my fellow Filipinos besides television and radio, and besides, a lot of our youth spend more time on the internet than watching television or listening to the radio. Kaya 'eto, sa tulong ng staff ko, I built my first home on the web at unti-unting nababawasan ang aking technophobia. I'm beginning to like this website thing because when I publish something "now", it is available for reading online "now" -- and "now" is of paramount importance to me.

Our country has so many problems, and the need to carry out basic reforms is more urgent now than any other point in the recent past. Either we begin now or the decline of the national condition becomes irriversible. There is not much time left to carry out the urgent task. The window to reform is fast closing. We need to work together now more than ever.
