and every picture i find hidden in the crevices of this much-loved and much-worn house is a miniture breakdown.
[[i just found every pic you ever emailed me.]]
xo.
Portishead. Phil Dunlop and spaghetti.
The man who talked me into doing the
only drawing class I ever did post-15.
Ergh. But oh! The afternoons at 411,
staring out the window and wondering at
peoples' lives. (I gave him lots of
free coffee, I think.) Brian was my
lodestar, the one who kept me grounded
and who led me in London. The one who
looked like Hugh Grant. I only wish
he'd come to London NOW and have jolly
japes with me!
hard. my gluteals are screaming just
thinkin about it. but brian? not only is
he forty & fabulous, he is a forty &
fabulous CERTIFICATE HOLDER. something
magical happens when you sweat to the
music of sade and lift tomato cans like
weights. margaret richard writes you a
love letter and you get a righteous
rippin six pack. damn.
the way you know about a good melon.
cherry on top... unless we use a
princess cake to complete the
metaphor, in which case he's the
intensely green, marzipanic frosting.
and one could, in theory, contest me
on the aforementioned, but all i'm
hearing is, 'who wants cake?' and
well, i always want cake.
bomb" that is. I am glad that Brian is
my friend.
to my daniel-son. he has taught me
everything i know, from dealing a mean
game of gin to kicking the more
dastardly habits to the proper
grammatical usage of 'badonk-a-donk.'
for that i am eternally indebted. oh how
my life would be a meager hollow shell
of frozen dinners, second-rate wine,
and but a crude understanding of the
blasted electroclash if not for him.
