Michael's relationship to language is
unusual. Sometimes I think that, more
than meaning, he cares about the sound
and the fury. Or maybe just the
articulation and the syntax.
Are you still trying to teach the world
that sign language is for so many more
than the hearing-impaired?
at summer term at school. I was taking
an extra French class because I thought
I wanted to be a French major.
Actually, it's kind of ironic because
we met in an Impressionistic art
class. I think that class really
solidified Michael's anti-impressionism
sentiments. My earliest memories of
him were of going on Field trips and
him signing along with the presenters
as well as his favorite N'Sync
song "Merry Christmas" which is REALLY
funny when you realize he's Jewish! He
always has a new language he's
learning, and you need to watch out
because he'll probably try to talk to
you in that language. I love him
because he's very passionate and a very
dear friend. Je t'aime et tu me
manques!
but I will protect his anonymity).. is
a wonderful person who Always puts a
smile on my face, even when he's not
around me! Yes, he is a bad dancer.
But again, smile on my face. I
personally LIKE his taste in music!
Esp. Italian rock! Michael was my
teacher and is a great friend who I
miss dearly!
has like the worst taste of music _ever_
(as somebody who is over 14 but still
likes t.A.T.u.), and would from time to
time start to sing all the evil pop
songs he knows, he can also speak
English with the funniest Russian or
French accents.
Oh, and the two of us evaluate all the
men we know. (Luckily we don't have the
same taste there, either, so we will
never have to fight... isn't that great?)
doesn't. That made me sad until I
graduated. Now I am indifferent. He's a
cool guy who speaks like a zillion
jillion billion languages, including
several methods of pantomime
communication. If you ever need to
communicate with a deaf Zulu tribesman,
Mike's the guy to have on your side!
