Berdasarkan diskusi hangat dari milis m-claro untuk membentuk satu komunitas erat yang bisa mengekspresikan kecintaannya terhadap musik rock/metal dan juga bisa menjadi wadah bisnis, maka lahirlah ide awal i-Rock! tepat pada tanggal 28 Maret 2006. Setelah melalui proses pembentukan selama kurang lebih 4 bulan, i-Rock! pun resmi melakukan grand launching pada tanggal 16 Agustus 2006 di Hard Rock Cafe Jakarta dan hari tersebut pun menjadi hari peringatan berdirinya i-Rock!
