Getting to know me through weird and random facts:

*my mother is a pure maguindanaon/maguindanawon
*most of my friends remember me for my corny punchlines
*i have pillows for my feet
*i often eat chop suey to convince myself that i am healthy
*..and yes, i'm guilty of using some of Freud's defense mechanisms (e.g. rationalization, repression, reaction formation, denial, etc.)
*I like to have a lot of friends, but only a few close ones
*Most of my friends call me Li, my sisters and my brother call me just plain Aliah, but both my parents call me Lali (as in Lalipop)...but don't even think about calling me that..Li would do..=)
*An obvious sign that i'm thinking or nervous is when i start to bite my nails
*Unfortunately, I can be unfair and a bit of a hypocrite, One Scenario: I don't like to share my things with my sisters, but I often end up using theirs without them knowing.
*i stay away from any food item with caffeine (TOP SECRET!)
*I'm more of a dreamer than a doer ("more talk less action" kind of habit)
*I appreciate all classical instruments and ballet (classical instruments + ballet = no connection)
*Most of the time i don't make any sense, since i can never stick to just one topic in my conversations with friends
*Facial Flush Dilemma: People sometimes believe that when I blush it means that I'm caught "lying" red handed.
*I've got alien-like fingers (it's complicated)
*I'm multi-lingual: maguindanao, english, and tagalog, but my tagalog doesn't even equal the tagalog of a toddler. I'm also really terrible with some pronunciations: puto, biko, Mai Mai, and just recently Talomo!
*I can appear to be cold at times because of my sarcastic nature
*I suffer from selective memory retention: i can often only remember things I either unconsciously or consciously want to remember.
*I danced the HULA when I was 12 for EIGHT whole months, but had to quit when my father accepted a job in GUAM.
*I've only been to FOUR countries: Philippines, USA (Hawaii & Guam), China, and Japan.
*I used to be a cheerleader back in JUNIOR HIGH.lol [SY 99-00]
*I am literally addicted to Frito Lay's Hot and Cheesy Cheetos and VanHoutten's Milk Chocolate. Taste even better when you eat with the Tyra show on.lol
*I feel compelled to be fit so I regularly go to the gym, but I don't really enjoy long workouts. 2hrs per session, 3 x a week habit is just fine for me. :)
*I am a certified JESSICA ALBA fan. no, i'm not a lesbian. I just think she's extremely gorgeous and if I could have a body like hers that would be it. I mean is it too much to ask?
*I don't consider myself an official dancer, but I believe I'm trainable. It's all about choreography. Just don't make me do a freestyle performance. That would be fatal.lol
*I have a deep desire to become a medical doctor and specialize in prescribing medication to mentally ill patients [PSYCHIATRY].
*I can be the most passionate person you meet. I live by my principles and I live them with conviction. It's definitely not how long you live, but how well. This philosophy has its roots in Confucianism.
*I rarely say NO, but when I do it only means there's a VERY good reason for it.
*I am in LOVE with psychology. This is a rather odd, but self-fulling hunger for knowledge of human behavior, motives, and human nature.
*I am also fascinated with Philosophy. It is a thirst to understand philosophical arguments that could both inspire and change my very own way of living.
*I love more than I should, romantically that is. Sometimes my heart tends to overrule and I lose my ability to discern between genuine love and an infatuation. In other words, I forget to open myself up to the possibility of unrequited love.
*I want to be married before I turn 25 or enter med school. I think I am ready to commit my WHOLE life to that one special guy who can make my heart skip a beat, who can take my breath away and leave me wanting nothing more in life than to be in love with him.
*Materialistically I can be shallow, but in terms of thought I can be as deep as the ocean. I can think about shopping and about meaning and death all on the same day.
*I must admit I can get pretty emotional about certain things and I am the jealous-insecure type, but I know better enough not to dwell on silly matters. My heart has a tolerance limit. :)
*Lastly, i really want to detach myself from earthly possessions (yes, i have a spiritual side).
