Testimonials and Comments for Laruocco
Laruocco?! No easy task. Hauntingly
charming, she has an air about her
liking to a mischevious imp or
cheurbim -- or more likely a will-o-
wisp that simply grew tired of luring
lost travellers to their deaths in
quicksand. She has always been a
magnet for the strange, and that
strange is common beside her light.
It is a refreshing constancy that
meeting up with her after so many
years the same things are suddenly
evoked. I would follow her and gape
stupidly until I was slain anyday! After
hanging out with La even once, you
should have a profound
understanding of how creatures like
the angler fish could have evolved.
I'm so terribly fond of her!
words, but right now i think maybe you
are like a big tray of cupcakes w/lots
of frosting & glittersugar & lit
sparklers? but more nutritious or
something. you have to be a big tray or
pretty serving platter of cupcakes so
that way ppl can--ah, no not eat you. i
just think you are big & multiple &
more than many ppl smushed together. in
a good way, cuz cake is great you know?
& you are lots of them right now
hasn't already been said here? <--That's
probably already been said here. La
Ruocco is fresh and exciting when so
much is played and dull. She is one of
the truest and rockingest art stars ever
to take a stage on the Lower East Side.
Being her friend is both intellectually
exhilarating and fun, fun, fun. She's so
bubbling over with talent that she's,
bubbling, but bubbling like a bubble
machine, not like a tea kettle. See her
perform if you ever get the chance. Buy
her books no matter what.
* This testimonial, though emanating
from the mouth/hands of the
collaborator/editor/videographer/guy of
La Ruocco's upcoming documentary video
project, is entirely authentic and
without networking-related
praise-inflation. This can be verified
independently through those friendsters
she and I share, who will tell you that
she is basically amazing and I am
basically honest.
cool... can i say that on here?
anyway... just received her book a few
days ago and she is possibly a
genius... i mean, i am jealous... hope
my publishing efforts turn out as
well... keep rockin girl...
like writer-heroes sometimes can be. I'm
cuckoo for Laruocco puffs....
Eminem put together (plus one seriously
perky set of tits-- no wonder she's
compelled to autophotograph.) One flaw
though-- a tight Ilio Psoas. Probably
from all that deep giggling. Her pink
emails brighten my day. Oh yeah, she's
also a total genius and you should buy
her book/s if you haven't already.
endless font of creativity. She's
brilliant, charming, and more than a
little bit dangerous.
i picked up the book document zippo when i
was working in this lesbian bookstore where
everyone hated me cuz i was apolitical and
shaved my armpits. i'd sit and read and escape
into it. i'm still a zippo addict. i've unfortunatly
never seen LA perform onstage and always
wanted to. i missed the boat and i wasn't on
the boat. when i met her, i couldn't take my
eyes off her.. she reminded me of a poisonous
frog with a white face and a knowing
expression. much later after meeting her i
discovered she wrote zippo and i flipped.
