The Lyceum of the Philippines Chorale has existed since the inception of the school itself. The Chorale regularly performs in the social and academic functions of the school, as well as outside such as government functions, weddings, and church-related activities.

In 2004, they performed in the Annual Awards Convocations where Philippine President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo was the guest of honor. They also participated with several finely-honed choirs in the “Harmonies Festival” at the Philam Life Theater. Together with the Manila Philharmonic Orchestra, they sang with the country’s finest tenor Mr. Nolyn Cabahug, and most sought-after soprano Ms. Rachelle Gerodias the same year.

In July 2005, competed in the prestigious National Music Competition for Young Artists (NAMCYA) – College Choir Category in October that year where they placed fourth in the NCR division of schools.

March of 2006, they launched their debut concert entitled “Beyond Anthems and Carols” at the Jose P. Laurel Hall of Freedom, Lyceum of the Philippines University. Later in August that year, they had their second television appearance in NBN channel 4’s “Sining Gising: NCCA Ugnayan sa Tinig ng Bayan”. This followed more performances. Again, they competed in the Christmas Choral Competition at the Viverẻ Suites in Alabang. After that they performed at the Rajah Sulayman for the Christmas Eve presentation on December 24, and again at the Unang Hirit this time at the GMA 7 Network Center and DZBB on December 25.

This year, they performed again for NBN’s “Sining Gising” last April 22, which was then followed shortly by their second major solo concert at the Philamlife Auditorium, last April 28. The newly-formed yet budding Hiyas ng Maynila Children’s Choir, still under the tutelage of Mr. Nicanor, graced the night.

Concluding this year is their first ever international competition in the First Asian Choir Games in Jakarta, Indonesia, Nov. 2-10, 2007.
