I forgot to mention in my initial review that this movie contains one of my new favorite so-bad-it's-INCREDIBLE pieces of dialogue. "Hey! I think I see DING-DONGS!!!" Really, not an atrociously bad bit of screenwriting, per se, but given the "out-of-left-field" placement of the line and the sheer jubilation in young Lee Montgomery's delivery, we wound up rewinding it 4 times, cackling anew every time. The kid deserves a special Oscar for being able to deliver it with a straight face...TO BETTE DAVIS, no less!!!
If you loved American Pie, you will love its sequel. There are no real surprises but we love to watch this movie for its genuineness. We all know guys like Stifler and Jim and Oz, etc., etc. The same chemistry is there and we keep rooting for Jason Biggs. I don't want to give away too much but I loved Jim's band camp story. I hope Jason Biggs is around for a long time, he has so much potential as a comic actor. Eugene Levy is great to watch, he tries so hard to be a cool dad. He is so genuine that we have to love him. I loved the ending, since I was once a band geek.
