        wushu-themed puns and knock knock
jokes. Ask him to tell you one. Go
        ahead, I dare ya.

      • Years ago Mark helped me after wushu
practice when I got stuck hundreds of
        miles from home. Thanks, man.

      • I met Mark because he was Brandon's
roommate and the poor guy would have
to suffer through at least one weekend
a year in April, when the gang from
Oregon would come down and crash the
apartment for 2 days while competing
in Berkeley. Then again, when trying
to go to sleep in the living room, we
could hear his snoring through his
        bedroom door. :0)o

I kept in occasional contact with him
throughout that time and besides the
Wushu that everyone knows him for, my
thoughts on Mark are: He works hard at
whatever he sets his mind to; His
humor can cure whatever blues you
        might have; He's intelligent and
intense; He has a heart, that even
when he makes mistakes, allows him to
fix the situation so that the right
thing gets done or said. If you happen
to meet him, be sure to keep in
touch 'cause he's a great guy.

      • When he finds something that catches
his interest, Mark can focus in on it
        with a brilliant intensity. He's
gifted at picking up pretty much
everything he puts his mind to with
seeming ease, but he never shows off
about it. Combined with his charisma,
this makes everybody notice him and
want to be his friend rather than
        resent him for it.
He has a gift for anything artistic or
        anything expressive. He's co-ordinated
so he can dance, and musically talented
        (vocally *and* instrumentally) so he
        can accompany himself.
His moods can be mercurial, so I never
quite know when the next time I'll have
a conversation with him is, but I know
that when it happens, it will be a
        fascinating one. He can transition
from one thing to another abruptly, so
woe to those that cannot keep up.
He has a way of challenging the way
that you see things in a direct, but
        not confrontational way. Just don't
pay too much attention to him; he
doesn't like it even though he's the
one that unleashed himself on the wushu
        world.
Oh yeah, his wushu! I think his
nanquan is awesome cool, but he is also
        mighty uncomfortable with praise so
that's all I'll say about that.
Despite the fact that I've known him
        for a long time, I don't think I know
that much *about* him. He's a pretty
private person, for all of his social
        skills and loquacity online.
So.. Mark has my recommendation! He is
a very cool friend. *thumbs up*

      • Wow, Mark...I meat you when I
        curiously walked into wushustar and
ever since then you've been one of my
        lamest friends :) hahahaha...nah,
        seriously though, thanks for being
there for me and always looking out
for me, I really appreciate it a lot.
I hope our friendship will last a long
time, at least it better if we're
planning to work together in the
future! :) But yeah, you really are
a really nice guy. Thanks for being a
        great friend!
