About Me:
I take seriously how little time we have in this life: the only thing that matters at the end of the day - and at the end of our days - is whether we have honored others and risked ourselves in relationships that create life for each other and justice in the world. To this end I aim constantly to eliminate more of what's unnecessary, petty, or fake from my life, and continually to add more of what's just, loving, and true. I invest time and energy in relationships with people who are engaged in living life passionately, doing justice authentically, and building right community carefully. I place a high premium on real conversation: I'm able to listen without judgment when friends or strangers seek compassion, and to help them find solutions that make sense for their dreams and commitments; on the other hand, I can get fairly ruthless in undermining poorly-made arguments or unaccountable assertions of privilege. I have neither time nor tolerance for media that lack absolutely solid analysis: e.g., I read The Economist to know what's going on in the world and I read The Nation to decide what to do about it. I begin from the standpoint that you and I are deeply enmeshed and implicated in structures that seek to kill women, queers, poor people, people of color, disabled people, religious minorities, and the Earth - and I want to move with you to the challenge of what we will do towards eliminating these structures.

Who I Want to Meet:
SIX THINGS YOU CAN WRITE ABOUT IF YOU WANT TO HIT ME UP: 6. Say you had the skills to be a back-up singer for any band in history: what band would you sing for? 5. Imagine that your bedroom were in its current location but had a window that opened onto any view in the world: what sight would you wake up to? 4. Suppose you could have any job in the world: what would it be? 3. Imagine you had the ability to correct one mistake, error, or wrong - in history, in your own life, in someone else's: what would you change? 2. Assume you have only 1 year from today to live: what would you spend that year doing? 1. What do you think of Breathing Space: A Spiritual Journey in the South Bronx?

Testimonials and Comments for Jeremy
He even likes it that I say such trite
dribble as that. Right now he's smiling
and laughing at my constant reliance
upon cliches like that. They're there for
a reason, though, and in all of the ways
you would say that someone's the
apple of your eye, that's how I feel
about Jer.
booty with than Jeremy. No one I would
rather stay up to 3AM with gossiping
and sharing our deepest thoughts.
Jeremy is the type of friend that
brings you your favorite dessert when
you're feeling down, laughs
boisterously with you when you're
feeling up, and always, always gives
the most beautiful flowers in the world
for no particular reason. This man
