I agree with Sherry. I have known Skip since the 70's when we worked together. And he was so kind as to write me wonderful letters as he traveled across the world during his time in Melbourne, Australia. He thinks he is not lovable, but I think he just hasn't found the "right" woman yet. Unfortunately, that "right" woman is probably going to have to be one who lets him be who he is and not try to change him or make demands on him. If you let him be himself, I am sure he will let his partner do her thing and all would be well. There's someone out there for you Skip, don't give up and don't quit looking. Women get better with age my friend, not just old!
James is "Skip" to me and a very dear friend. My college sweetheart has not changed in any way that matters. He is still the intelligent, caring and sweet man I loved our senior year of college in 1970. Any woman who is loved by him is blessed!
