Favorite TV Shows:
TiVo makes commecial TV bearable, otherwise I wouldn't watch it. I go months without seeing commercials now, and they scare me more than ever. West Wing (its a disease, not a crime), Space Ghost, DS9, some ST:TNG, and This Hour Has 22 Minutes. Curse it Shel, you turned me on to Buffy, but I'm rehabilitating. Also the pre-9-11 Dennis Miller, and documentaries on social boundaries.

About Me:
I am motivated and guided by my core ethics. I'm at my best when I listen a lot and speak only when moved by the spirit (but few things seem harder sometimes!). I enjoy parody and satire (especially political or news-based
satire). I'm allegedly INFP but I swear that types evolve. I enjoy parentheses and the tangents that go with them. I'm striving for Hemingway's brevity and not Faulkner's spawl.I groove most with the music of protest and revolution, and relax the most within earshot of brackish water (though a complex stream system will do in a pinch). I am a darn good educator, especially when I'm not trying. I take impassioned stands like one tries on shoes (striving always for "in my size" and "suits me"); I believe objectivity is a pretentious illusion typically invoked to distract from untrained and atrophied perceptions. I'm new to Salsa but picking it up quickly; care to dance? At my next birthday party I will invite James Clerk Maxwell, Mary Parker Follett, Yoda, Jane Jacobs, Chuang-tzu, Arther Miller and El Vez (and the chef will be a master of crudo/ceviche/sashimi). Smoked ling cod as an appetizer, and lots of eels... Some days I want to become a reformer of the western calender, and some days I just want to build a iet (alternative materials and methods) home in the woods near the coast. "Esoteric for hire: have ancient texts, will travel". I love to sail, and I wish I could play the harmonica or accordion. Can you teach me to yodel? I'm a student, and have been for a long time (student = trading the middle-class lifestyle for more important things). I'm a night owl. I'm moved by sincerety and effort (though those alone aren't enough to sustain). Appreciation is nutritious; hearty laughter is an essential element. Gentle touch is an important part of any healthy breakfast. I've been learning to see details, to study at close range, to patiently observe and avoid the tendency to predict, a residual of years of Scientism. I'm healing...

Who I Want to Meet:
If people refer to you as expressive you're off to a grand start. I'm far more impressed by genuine struggle than by perfection. I like people who aren't easily intimidated and who seek lively, challenging discussions. I'm looking to meet new friends who are willing to show me around thier world a bit, especially someone interested in casual & freindly dates (long walks, a low-stress meal cooked at home, take me somewhere new or teach me something). In the long run, regardless of what role we play for each other, the best I could ever hope for would be to love the sound of your voice and to not need to hear the words to understand how you're feeling (which is not at all to imply that words themselves don't matter to me a great deal). In the meantime, I'd like to learn a new game or dance and go to somewhere outdoors at night that I've never been before. Ideally, you're independent, but like the idea of practicing dance steps at home and occasionally reading each other stories. Try me!

intelligent, saucy, gentle, ridiculous,
wired, thorough, obtuse and beautifully
silly -- yep, that would be Christian.
He'll explain the atmosphere while
demanding a good merlot. He'll coax
you into a canoe trip, crash said canoe
and use hypothermia as a seduction tool.
Christian is a devoted friend, a human
worth trusting, a fine snuggler and has
a nose for good food. (Yep, you heard
me.) He attracts strong and vibrant
souls and people with good instincts.
Trust yours and get to know him.

still grateful to this day. Christian
