The name Centre 8 was derived from interrelated perspectives of development and spirituality.

Development Perspective. We believe that training and research are at the center of every organization's success and sustainability, and that the need for these services are infinite (8 symbolizes infinity). Along this line, we also believe that everything is interrelated, and that a change in one component will eventually have an impact on others (8 symbolizes the interrelatedness of everything).

Spiritual Perspective. Psalm 118 verse 8 (the center of the Bible) says: "It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in man." We acknowledge that in our every victory, our source of strength and hope is Christ alone.

Everything came from God, hence we need to share all the blessings and opportunities with others to make God's gifts abundant for all. And as stewards of the earth, we need to strive to develop these through continuous training and research.
