all sweet and glad to innocently peruse
the library in her photo... but dont let it
fool you. she's in the back room making
illegal photocopies and rockin' the paste-
pirate ship in general. yeah.
towards innocent towns, but I still like
her. Soon she will come to terms with
it and accept the fact that she truely
loves me.
I've missed her immensely since she
moved to NY. She is a renaissance
woman and one of the best
conversationalists I've ever known.
She has a deep knowledge of things both
scholarly (history, art, politics,
literature) and popular (hip music,
movies, cultural currents). She has
class, a solid sense of propriety, and
charming farm girl roots. Every man
she meets falls in love with her,
sooner or later. Emily has some
characteristics that are rarely found
in members of the "gentler sex. In
particular, she purposeful, practical,
and can make you laugh until it hurts.
She's a good drinker and a mean
wrestler. She's the right prescription
for whatever ails ya.
to get emily to make out with me (oh,
yeah, that ONE time)... well I was
trying to lasciviously whisper into her
ear over whatever 80s hits seth was
djing and in doing so I knocked her
into a door and gave her a black eye!
the best was that instead of being
horrified, angry and embarrassed, I
think we both thought it looked fuckin
tough and it made a good story. er, it
kind of sucked that people thought
chris was beating her tho.
tootin'est, sixgunshootin'est bad ass
in the east. Seriously though yesterday
I saw a book jacket that described
Oscar Wilde as "one of the great
conversationalists of his age." And I
thought of Emily Farmer. No joke. I
love her heaps.
larry when I think of camp aloha..
which, er, isn't all that often, to be
honest. but I think about all you guys
all the time. including emily. cause
she is surely the shit and gets crazy
with a variety of business, including
emo comics and bricked beers and
going "watch, wallet, spectacles,
testicles" when we get ready to leave
the house.
come back to portland dear!
know. we are not in touch as much as i
would like, alas. but in emily you'll find a
witty, fun, crazy girl who's a great laugher,
thinker, writer, and conversationalist. hit her
shit up.
