WAR DAWG CARTEL(W.D.C) is a congregation of talented hip-hop group base in Singapore. Formed in mid 2002, it’s consist of crews such as Alphabatical, Bratz Sindikate, Folorn Kookz, Da Unit, G-Femininz & the ever popular, Trivalation. Trivalation who led WDC from the start had performed and won competitions such as Singapore Street Festival 2003 whereby they won 1st prize and made champion for the Street Festivals Rap Delight Competition. They were also one of the opening acts for the Black Eyed Peas Live in Concert in May 2004 (Elephunk Tour) at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. Their biggest achievement is to remix the Singapore Swing ‘Stand Up For SG!’ and perform for the National Day Parade 2004 in front of the whole of Singapore.
Da Unit, led by L’style, Glizzer, Dr Joe & Mastermind with their ability to freestyle and producing creative songs had won them numerous competions such as Utophia2003, Street Festivals 2003 and 2004 and many more including those organized by the HipHop Club. Their performance includes the Singapore HipHop Fest2004 in Singapore and the first in WDC to cross the border to Johore Bahru (Bring Tha Noize 2003).
Forlorn Kookz, establish by Wark NAIOA, now led by Phaz also is in the rising stage to make a name for themselves as they’ve grab 3rd prize for Power98 FM’s Sprite Hip-Hop Battle back in 2004 and the radio station recorded a short track for them to record and play on their radio station.They’ve also performed in SSF with the rest of the WDC family.
Bratz Sindikate proceed with fusion sound and proving that hiphop can be intertwine with other genres. They had won the SSF ’04, which was championed by Trivalation the year before and Da Unit holds the StreetFest throne in 2005.
Alphabatical, the young guns in WDC, have proven that they too can be on top of the game with all the other crews. They grabbed 2nd prize in SSF ’05 with the eletronica/poetry influenced songs. Currently they are evolving after Scorchy left the game.
An all girl-group, G-Femininz is a promising group as they got 3 Rappers and a Singer. They too won competitions and performed in huge crowds such as Singapore Hip-Hop Festival in 2004. The youngest girl in the group is a 12 years old named Mia who was featured in a local rap group ,Ahli-Fiqir, with their hit track ‘Angguk Angguk Geleng Geleng’.
The Cartelz is a newly formed crew in the early of 2006 consisting of 3 members. Appeared in The Fort Minor Block Party, Krunk Kribs'06 n Singapore Street Festivals '06 juz to name a few. They've also won 3rd Place in Singapore Street Festival Urban Combat Competition'06. Impressive start for a new crew .
It is also home for some of the finest production groups in Singapore, Jiggy's Rare-Cutz , Phaz Inc. Production, Tis St00pid Entertainment & The SinDicalist whom time after time conjour the very best instrumentals they could master for WDC and other crews and bringing honours to the Cartel! They are also responsible of all the mixings, masterings and recording works for WDC.
It’s been a long journey for WDC and after 6 years of friendship and performing together and still stand strong as a family of 21 emcees.
