      • warren is the bomb diggity... the first time i picked up transmetropolitan, my brain lit up like a pinball machine and i was infected by his filthy genius. years later and he is still my messiah, raining his wisdom, humor and perversion upon me like a golden shower. and for what i have received, i am truly thankful.

      • Back when I was working at an (unnamed) media company, I got cold calls from our Warren. I'd been charmed by Lazarus Churchyard and knew the writer was cut out for better things than Doom 2099.
But did they take my hints? No. Did I push hard enough? No.

Years later, Warren has a global personality cult and breaks internets like Galactus.
The fates condemned me to trek through the remotest jungle and rescue obscure comics in Cambodia for my penance.
Take heed, little ones. This could have been your story.

      • warren is one of those rare writers that forces me to be as good a writer as him. Not so much as a celebrity idol but an human inspiration. Transmet influenced me to take up a BA in communications and i found the scholar in me because of it. That is warren's power, because he is prophetic that way. I cannot thank him enough.

Those who have eyes should read. He's not just a loud brain'd english bastard, he's a loud brain'd english bastard with something to say that'll alter the consciousness of the world through comics. which alt-life i have known him i dont know.

        but we;ll meet again.

        till then.

        keep writing old friend.

      • Although I'm a little late to the game (for the longest time I just collected comics without paying attention to the artist/writer, just the character) Warren has become one of the talents I'll look for by name. His Ultimate Galactus Trilogy has been great so far and Fell is just amazing...I'm planning on checking out Nextwave and Blackgas, but as long as he keeps doing Fell I'll be happy. What other comic tackles the serious social issue of wine enemas?!?

      • Warren took me seriously. And I lived to tell about it. He makes my synapses snap crackle and pop. And I like sending him pictures of my boobs. And I want to feed him a mint julep when he comes to North Carolina next year.

      • Even though I like to consider myself a contemporary, it would take me forever to achieve the mastery and skill that Warren exhibits without much effort.

So, I send him e-mail with pictures of my boobies attached. It's my own weird way of balancing it all out.

Read Fell. Read Desolation Jones. And most especially read Transmetropolitan if you haven't, yet.

      • Truly, Warren Ellis rules the world from an interdimensional shiftship skimming the multiverse, dispensing mind-expanding text which opens like a lotus into the infinite. When I see the Thompson in the Spider, it always makes me smile.
