Now that I'm no longer the scared and intimidated applicant, I got enough courage to stick around him and overcome that intimidation. (Whew, it's easier than I thought!)
I came to know many things about him and learn more from him. His guidance helped become a good member and he also became my inspiration in serving the organization that we both love. I got used to his "pamatay comments" and even learned to make my own, haha! Kwentuhans will not be complete without his side comments and share "trivias"(intriguing or not).
As for the org, I think he's one of the reasons of its success. He's always there, ready to support, sacrificing so much of everything(his time, some money hehe,...) Maybe that's the reason why the org doesn't want to let him go yet.:)
To Kuya Rex, thanks for all. Balu mu na ita. I'm looking forward to more movie marathon nights, you're pamatay comments, your customized coffee and iced tea, and of course, our tambay hours together.
XOXO!
(may ganung factor?hehe)
"Kung mag-buddy ka dapat kunan mu y Kuya Rex. President ya dati at dakal ya balu king Aguman." That's what Ate Kitchie told me when I was an applicant of the best Capampangan org in town. I was then clueless and I just ignored what Ate Kitch said. Instead, I took her advice as a warning. Yes, warning because I found Kuya Rex very intimidating then. He seems to know many things.(I even thought he could read my mind!) And he was using a letter "R" with a crown as his logbook signature (like he's really The King). So I tried to stay away from him and his "pamatay comments". Until now, I still regret that decision.
I was wrong for not trying approach him then and talk to him(even if it meant enduring his "pamatay comments" for hours). I'm sure marami akong natutunan as an applicant at mas maaga kong narating ang "maturity age" ko kung noon pa lang naging close kami.(oha? masyadong nosebleed kaya tinagalog ko na,haha)
PS: Di naman siguro tayo malilink nyan noh? Haha
PSS: Libre daka starbux soon, promise! Haha
PSSS: Ang testimonial na ito ay ginawa para makabawas sana sa stress. Haha =) effective naman!
Part I
I have known Rex for almost seven years now. The Rex I met last June 2001 is so different from the Wex I know now.
We use to call him RK. Oh well, actually, he is, up to now, a rich kid minus the brattiness. I still remember him pouting and brandishing his gloomy face in the house when he cant have what he wants right away, may it be a cellphone or a laptop. Back then, he even had a better cp than us. What a brat! Now I know he has realized already that he cannot have everything right away. More than that, I know he now understands that he cannot have everything.
From a carefree eater, Rex is now a health buff! Oha! Keep it up! ;p
Rex also has this what a friend labelled as computing attitude. His notion then was I should get what I give. Now, he is the ever giving friend and Kuya for his little brothers and sisters.
From a carefree housemate, he now takes care of almost everything in 34G, our home away from home. (With seniority, comes great responsibility Agree Wexy? ;p)
Being the youngest in the house, he used to just hear about the birds and the bees. But now, he gives un/solicited lectures about them. Haha!
Also, back then, I thought of Wex as a GC. Well, I think he really was. Being the valedictorian back in High School, he has always strived to excel in EEE. And he did until recently. His goal has changed, from attaining high marks to hold the most elusive diploma. Moreover, he used to be so certain in things that concern his acads, now he feels lost. He used to be the inspiration of one of our close friend then, now he seemed to be the one who needed some inspiration yet he does not rant about it. The ranting and brat Rex has long been gone.
I know hes going through a lot but he chose to be silent about it and face it head on. You know what Wex? I hope to see the confident Rex before. Do not doubt yourself. You are destined to be a computer engineer! Just want you to know, I am also here for you Wexy. I may not have the solution to your worries and dilemmas but I am here to listen, just here, the way youve been by my side in my lowest moments til now. (^^,) Wove ya! Mwah! ^_^
Jigs does not expect a witty banter to result from his initial statement. However, Jigs wants Rex to know that he is laughing his ass off as he was typing this COMMENT.
So sa mga nag-comment na dito, binura ko na. Pero don't worry, our witty banter is safely kept in my heart. Oha. Haha!
