birthday.
great taste in music on you, matt. those were
some fine mix tapes. i can't believe i haven't seen
you in so long. maybe i'll get to before you move
to citrus-fruit land.
cds of winter this side of the tropics
and keeping lit the torch of rock.
it's a tough job, but someone's gotta
do it.
man is electrifying, both
metaphorically and literally. Matt is
one of the greatest conversationalists
I've ever met (if not THE greatest, and-
trust me- I've met a lot of
conversationalists), a great airplane
neighbor, a musical tour guide
extraordinaire, absolutely groovy
guitarist, and definitely one of the
top 3 most purely likable people I've
ever encountered anywhere on the
planet ... you know, one of those
people about whom you think to
yourself, "Wow, self, I'm really glad I
met this person." Every CremeSaver I
ever see will remind me of you!
is good! Matt played Cogan's in
Norfolk with Sorry About Dresden (I
think Jet by Day was there too.) After
the show Matt and his bandmates needed
a place to crash. We all ended up
staying on this old 80' boat I was
working on at the time. They were
stoked on staying on a boat (even
though it was like febuary in Norfolk
and there was ice on the docks and
stuff). The boat was very old and
remains to this day in a state of
severe disrepair. It could have sank
at any moment and killed us all. I'm
pretty sure I told them this before we
all passed out, I cant remember. It
was one of those rare rockin' good
times in the 757.
Also, matt knows more about the
replacements than I do, making him an
even bigger fan than me.
Matt is great guy and he keeps good
company. If you are around him and his
cronies, chances are that you will have
a lot of fun. Unless they are there to
kick your ass or something.
pegged...jumping and hugging and
rockin' out, but there's more to you
than that. thanks for remembering
everything and always showing up.
nowhere is too far away, and it's never
too late to call. you're missed. xoxo
